Warren’s Forest-Themed First Birthday | Wooster Child Photographer

There’s just something about a one-year session. As a Wooster child photographer, I get to see that sweet in-between stage — not quite a baby, not quite a toddler. Warren came in for his first birthday milestone session, and it was the perfect mix of curious, serious, and just proud enough of himself.

Warren came to see me for his one-year milestone session, and we kept it simple with a soft forest theme. Nothing over-the-top. Just natural textures, muted greens, and space for him to be the star of the show.

That’s how I approach milestone sessions here in Wooster — clean setups, simple styling, and room for real personality. I want parents to look back and see their child, not a bunch of props.

Warren was steady on his feet and very serious about his surroundings at first. He took it all in. Gave me those thoughtful looks. And then once he warmed up? The best little smirks.

And of course — we ended with a cake smash.

He wasn’t totally sure about it at first. A little poke. A cautious taste. Then he decided it was worth the mess. Frosting on the fingers, on the toes, everywhere it should be. Exactly how a first birthday session should end!

One-year milestone sessions are some of my favorites to photograph. They’re simple, relaxed, and they celebrate a huge year — for baby and parents.

If you’re looking for a Wooster child photographer for your baby’s first birthday or milestone session, I’d love to help you plan something that feels like your family — not a Pinterest board.

Let’s make it easy. And meaningful.
