A Sweet Wildflower Theme
For this one year milestone session, we styled the setup with soft florals and a gorgeous cake decorated with delicate icing flowers. It gave the whole session a whimsical wildflower garden feel while still keeping everything simple and baby-focused.
And of course, the cake smash portion did not disappoint.
Thereโs always that moment where babies try to decide if cake is something theyโre supposed to play withโฆ or eatโฆ or completely destroy. This birthday girl quickly decided cake was not on her fav food list, but she gave it her best try!
A Special Family Detail
One of my favorite parts of this milestone session was a detail that made the photos even more meaningful: a beautiful handmade quilt from grandma.
Including sentimental pieces like this adds so much heart to a session. Not only did it photograph beautifully with the wildflower theme, but itโs something this little girl will always have as part of her story.
And someday, when sheโs bigger, mom will be able to show her these photos and say, โThat quilt was made just for you.โ
Celebrating the First Year
The first birthday milestone is such an emotional one for parents. In just twelve months, babies go from tiny newborn snuggles to busy little explorers with huge personalities.
