Simple ways to feel confident, comfortable, and ready

prep tips

  • what to wear

Styling your session is effortless with personal stylist direction and teamwork! By coordinating together and using your exclusive access to professional stylist (Whitney Irene) moodboards and color palettes, we will find exactly what feels comfortable and fun for your family.

  • location vibes

If you don’t have a spot in mind, I’ll recommend a few based on your style and goals. Whether it’s somewhere meaningful to you or just beautiful light, we’ll find the perfect backdrop.

  • weather & light

Golden hour is my favorite time to shoot for that soft and dreamy light, but in home sessions sometimes work best mid-day. I keep an eye on the forecast and will always reach out if we need to shift the timing.

  • what to bring

Water, snacks (especially for kids or long days), touch-up items like lip balm or hair ties, and anything you want photographed (like a bouquet or special keepsake).

session day details

arrival time

Be on time and ready to go. Showing up a few minutes early helps us settle in and start on the right foot. I’ll handle the flow of the session from there.

what to bring

Bring a few essentials to stay comfortable—water, light snacks, a few touch-up items (like lip balm or powder), and anything personal you’d like photographed, like rings or a bouquet.

during the session

I’ll guide you through natural prompts and posing, so there’s nothing to memorize or prepare. Just show up, follow my lead, and we’ll take it from there.

Little things that make a big difference

  • Double-check outfits for lint, wrinkles, and tags

  • Avoid sunglasses or hats beforehand—they leave marks

  • Clean your rings if you'd like detailed shots

  • Bring backup shoes if we’ll be walking a lot

  • Skip the smartwatch—it can reflect light and distract

  • Eat and hydrate beforehand—you’ll feel better

  • Leave space in your schedule—no need to rush

  • Don’t stress about posing—I’ll guide you through it all

sharing & image use

What to Know About Edits, Credits, and How to Support My Work

Tagging is everything

If you share your photos online, I’d be so grateful if you tag me! It helps my small business grow, and I love getting to see how you’re enjoying your images.

Refrain from filters

Adding filters or adjusting the colors can distort the look and feel of the images and misrepresent my work. I totally get the urge to match your aesthetic—but I promise I’ve already edited them to look their best.

01

I do not deliver raw files

Part of my process includes thoughtful editing that brings each image to life in a way that reflects my creative vision. Raw files are unfinished and don’t represent the quality or style I stand behind—so I never deliver them.
