Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Don’t let the mom in your life down this year! Consider buying local, thoughtful, reusable, and cherished gifts this year. Here are some Mother’s Day gift ideas to help you decide!

The Mom in Your Life

Whether you’re buying for your mother or your wife, I’m sure you’ve heard them say “I don’t need anything.” I’ve said it myself too! But what they mean is, I don’t need anything that I’m not going to use or will collect dust in the corner. I’ve come up with a list of Mother’s Day gift ideas that are practical, affordable, and useable! Let’s get to it..

For the Flower Lovers

Most women love to get flowers once in a while, but the usual grocery store roses that wilt the next day aren’t always the best option. Something relatively new in the floral industry is floral subscriptions! Many florists have options for bi-weekly or monthly bouquet subscriptions that are unique and often grown locally! A quick google search of ‘flower subscriptions near me’ can help you find those great local growers who ship or deliver gorgeous bouquets to freshen up your home and excite your Mom’s life!

If you’re local to Wooster Ohio, here are a few places to consider:
Blossom and Bee Stems – “With your purchase, you are joining a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) business model that supports growing local and provides you with a share in the harvest.”
Wooster Floral – “We always use the freshest seasonally available products.”
Yellow Shovel Floral – “We are a cut flower farm offering one-of-a-kind bouquets in Burbank, Ohio.”

For the Shopper

I’ll be the first to admit that I say I need new clothes all the time, but never want to spend the money on myself. I’d much rather buy the kids some cute new clothes rather than head into the dreaded try-on room myself. If you’ve heard the mom in your life mention that she needs some new clothes, get her a gift card to a local boutique! Local boutiques often have higher quality clothing that fits better and are more than willing to help women create unique outfits. Some of my local favorites are Blue Spruce Boutique and Salt and Honey Modest Clothing. See what’s available in your town to stop in and grab a gift certificate!

For the Cook

Not all moms love cooking. If yours doesn’t skip this! But if your wife or Mom spends a lot of time in the kitchen creating hearty meals and sharing recipes with friends, then consider a custom recipe book! A quick search on Etsy for ‘custom recipe book’ returns some beautiful results. Why is this important? Because if the mom in your life values mealtime, she will want her children to as well. She can hand down and heirloom all of her favorite recipes to her children to keep the tradition of the family meal time.

For the Natural and Non-toxic

Non-toxic products are becoming a big thing as people learn more about the chemical products they’ve been wearing and consuming. I mean, who wants to put aluminum directly onto their skin every day? Not me! Here are some great places with wonderful, non-toxic ingredients:
Toups and Co Organics – “Nourishing, organic ingredients – simplified skincare starts here.”
Primally Pure Skincare – “We use nature’s most precious elements to make non-toxic skincare products that support radiant skin, a healthy body + a happy self.”
Bohemian Mama – “This is your home for lovingly hand crafted all natural personal care products and remedies. Made with the finest ingredients to ensure healthy, nourished skin, lips and hair without the use of preservatives, chemicals, toxins, artificial colors, fragrances or fillers.”
Bluebird Farms Apothecary – “Sustainable Bath and Beauty”
Country Bloom Farm – “Old Fashioned skincare that works!”

For the Jewelry Lover

Is your Mom always accessorizing with cute necklaces and bracelets? Consider beautiful jewelry with meaning behind it. Dear Heart Co has beautiful items for faith-filled and inspired moms – “Our hope is that when you hold our products in your hands, you’re reminded of the truth that they represent. We pray that you use these intentional tools to have the deep, vulnerable conversations because those are really the ones that matter most. Our prayer is that these pieces can bring hope to the lost, revival to the weary, and courage for the believer.”
Gracefully Wrapped is a wonderful local jewelry maker who gives back to a local woman in need through every purchase!
I am sure one of these Mother’s Day gift ideas will melt her heart.

For the Home

I don’t know a Mom that wouldn’t love beautiful framed prints or wall art from their last family photo session. Our walls are covered with memories and we wish we had room for more!

Pretty in Polka Dots recently released and Wood Framed HD Photo Print with a replaceable image. I love being able to swap out the image in the gorgeous wood frame instead of replacing the entire thing. The frames come in 3 different finishes and all have a modern rustic look to them.
Use code KRPHOTOS for a discount when ordering through them!

Many photographers have a print shop connected with your gallery, so reach out to them to see if they have any special offers!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

I hope you found something here that will make the Mom in your life joyful this Mother’s Day! I promise we don’t need big extravagant gifts. Instead, we love thoughtful and useful items that can freshen up our home, our bodies, our spirits, or be passed down for generations!

Bonus Idea!

Book a session with a photographer! You might get the husband of the year idea for this 🙂 Moms love having family photos, but the most common reason they don’t is Husband’s who don’t want to participate. The years fly by, get in the picture, Dad! Do it for her. I offer gift certificates if you don’t want to have the pressure of picking a date. Get in touch here!
